EAPD dispatches a medical convoy to Mali

In light of the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development to provide health services to African, EAPD dispatched a medical convoy to Bamako on Saturday the 22nd of February 2020 in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine-Ain Shams University, and in coordination With the Egyptian embassy in Mali and the Ministry of Health in Mali.
The convoy was received by H.E. Aminata Mayega the First Lady and Head of the ONG Agir Charitable NGO, the Minister of Health of Mali Michel Sidibe, and Ambassador Karim Sadat, the Egyptian Ambassador to the Republic of Mali.
The medical team, headed by Prof. Dr. Sharif Alwan , Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine will provide medical and surgical services in the field of ophthalmology to Malian people, the convoy targets to perform 250 free surgeries in addition to training Malian doctors, during the period from February 22 to 29 2020.
