Training program held for diplomatic cadres from English-speaking African countries

In light of the great importance of diplomacy, EAPD organized a training program held for diplomatic cadres from the English-speaking African countries, in cooperation with the Institute of Diplomatic Studies.

The training program also focused on the economic development challenges facing the African continent in the context of the changes taking place in the global economy, the African Union agenda 2063 and the African continental free trade agreement. The program also discussed the Egyptian efforts to support African institutions in achieving peace and security, and Issues of combating illegal immigration, human trafficking, human rights and combating terrorism. Topics of international law and legal rules for the use of international rivers for non-navigational purposes, protocol and international relations were also an important part of the training program.

Among Key lecturers during the program were The Chairman of the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee who introduced the African diplomatic cadres to the role of the Egyptian parliament and its relations with its counterparts in African countries, The Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone at the United Nations who elaborated on the unified African position on reform and expansion of the Security Council, and the experience of Sierra Leone in the field of peace building.
