In cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), EAPD organized a training program on "Effective use of water to achieve moderate irrigation goals", for 19 trainees from 8 African countries, five of which are Nile Basin countries.

The program was held at the Regional Center for Training and Water Studies, during the period from December 1st 2019 to the 9th of January2020, and aimed to improve the efficiency of water resources management in African countries by providing training to African irrigation and agricultural engineers in effective water use management in the irrigation process.
