“Media and African Cooperation” program

23 leading media figures representing 23 African countries participated in “Media and African Cooperation” program which was organized by EAPD during the period from 20-30 January 2020 in Cairo.

The program included a number of important events and meetings with official dignitaries, as well as seminars and field visits to major projects in Egypt and a tour of Cairo's touristic attractions. The program also included a meeting with His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, the Chairman of the Information Authority, the Vice President of the National Council for Women. Field visits also included the new administrative capital, the axis of the Suez Canal, the Media Production City, and Nasser Military Academy , the police academy, the National Training Academy, the British University and the German University in Egypt.

This program aims to provide an opportunity to exchange Media experiences and expertise between Egypt and Africa, as well as build a network of communication between African media cadres to enhance cooperation within the framework of achieving the African Agenda for Sustainable Development 2063 and in light of the important role media plays in increasing community awareness on the challenges and constraints of development in African countries.
